Irish Prints - Beara Peninsula

The less traveled but equally beautiful peninsula in southern Ireland. Spanning both County Kerry and County Cork, this rugged mountainous peninsula offers the quaint Irish seaside villages of Kenmare, Glengarriff and Castletownbere. Driving around the peninsula you are treated to magnificent views up the mountains and down through the valleys.

Majestic Mountain View 

Driving around the peninsula, the sun peaked through the clouds and suddenly this view "spiraled" up in front of us. Even our local guide was stunned by the beauty.

We were actually photographing the lake to the left when the sun began to shine from behind. We turned just in time to see this mountain warm with color before our eyes!

Eyeries is a quaint village overlooking Coulagh Bay and the mouth of the Kenmare River in the southwest. It lies at the base of Maulin the highest peak in the Slieve Miskish mountain range.

Kenmare Bay 

Kenmare town is the quaintest of villages and sits at the head of both the Iveragh and Beara peninsulas. Like the town, Kenmare Bay plays a part in life on both peninsulas as it serves to separate the two and is accessible to tourists looking for glimpses of seals, fishermen, and underwater adventurers.
